Brennen’s Visit

Although always too short, we had another great visit with Brennen! Here’s some pics as we headed out for the Christmas celebration with my family and from later that night as a special visitor arrived on Poplar Run!

They clean up well!

Our special visitor!

Tristan’s Christmas Program

Tristan’s school put on a Christmas program last Wednesday. His class sang Song of the Angels, Christmas Don’t Be Late, and Silent night, and Tristan was awesome! He certainly didn’t inherit his sweet singing voice from Mommy or Daddy!

The boys getting ready to leave for the program.

Best brothers and great friends.

Our little angel!

Tristan’s in the front row near the middle.

He was very nervous, but did a really great job!

Singing his sweet little heart out!

Brennen’s Here!!!

Our big news this week was surviving driving to Columbus in the snowstorm yesterday afternoon, then flying to Virginia this morning and back home (all between the hours of 4 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.), then driving home again in the tail end of the snow storm. But it was all well worth it since our trip was to pick up Brennen for the holidays! The flight out to Virginia was Tristan’s 1st ever flight and he loved it (but it might also have had something to do with the cute stewardesses that kept making a fuss over him).

Tristan at the hotel pool last night.

Some action shots…

Tristan’s 1st flight ever!

The boys on the flight home – happy to be together!

Tristan’s First Skating Party

And actually, his first time ever on skates! Tristan and Daddy went to his school skating party last night (momma was still home sick with nasty crud!). They had a great time and Daddy got some great action shots!

Let’s get this party started! He’s excited and ready to go!

Ok, maybe not so ready to go… but ready to hold onto the wall for dear life!

Looking slightly less terrified!

Look at this – he’s skating (even if it is only on carpet)!

And he’s falling (but still having fun as indicated by the beautiful smile!)

Whew.. that was hard work – time for a slushie break!

The slushie must’ve worked – he’s really skating!

And skating…

And skating!

By the end of the night he looked like a pro and had a great time!

Jeff’s Wedding

Jeff (one of Matt’s 3 best friends from high school) got married last Wednesday in West Yellowstone, Montana and luckily Matt was able to take time off work and make the trip out. It was a gorgeous fairy tale wedding… unfortunately we have no pictures of the beautiful bride because the camera’s batteries died as she was walking down the aisle. Here are some of the pics we do have.

West Yellowstone… slightly more scenic than Dayton, Ohio

What a beautiful setting for a wedding!

Wow!

T.P.C.

They almost have you conviced they’re innocent angels, don’t they?

Tristan’s Baptism

Tristan was baptised on Sunday at Precious Blood Catholic Church (where he also attends school). It was a beautiful ceremony presided over by the WONDERFUL Father Bill and attended by 30 family and friends who came to love and support our little angel. It was a really perfect day.

Yes, the water was cold.

What an angel!

The following are BEAUTIFUL pictures our friend Stuart took. If he ever gets bored with being a chemist, he’d make a great professional photographer!

It’s over and it was perfect!

My favorite picture… Tristan and Daddy. It doesn’t get any more beautiful than this.

More Run Photos

Here are some more pics from the Columbus Marathon and from the Ghosts -n- Goblins run (for race details and original pics, see the posts below).

Columbus Marathon – Mile 26

At the start line of the Ghosts -n- Goblins 5k

Top Row from Left to Right… Sheri (our neighbor), Elvis (a.k.a. Matt), Me, Baby Wilmore (not shown), Lexi (also a neighbor and Sheri’s daughter)
Bottom Row from Left to Right… Tristan, Emily and Lani (Stuart and Melissa’s daughters), and Melissa (our neighbor)

Elvis made the local paper… See below for the quote from the Dayton Daily News (in orange)
Elvis made an appearance at the 22nd Annual Ghost N Goblin 5k race in downtown Dayton. This Elvis is really, Matthew Wilmore from Brookville.

The Family That Runs Together…

We are SOOOOOO proud of Tristan! Not only did he run his first 5k last night (the Dayton Ghosts -n- Goblins run), he finished in 36:08, and finished strong! He’s definitely just like his Daddy. It was also my first 5k and I finished in 31:31 and was just happy to have run the whole way. I started a training program with our neighbor Melissa (yay Melissa… her time was an awesome 34:49) 2 few months ago, and we’re so proud to have finished. Before I began training, I had never run a mile, so this feels huge to me. But more than anything, I am proud beyond words of my amazing boy!

He’s a hunka, hunka burnin‘ love

Yeah, I just don’t know what to say about this one

Or this one

At the starting line

Run, Daddy, Run!

YAY Daddy!
Matt finished his second marathon in 3:27 (12 1/2 minutes faster than his Flying Pig time)! We are SO proud of him! He finished 464 out of 3636 entrants putting him in the top 13% (our lucky number). We had a great time in Columbus with our neighbors Stuart and Melissa, and their daughters Emily and Lani (Stuart trained with Matt and also ran the marathon). Here are the pictures we have so far. We’ll update with more as we get them,

Tristan (and the sign we made for Daddy) before the race.

Mile 13 – Looking strong!

Mile 26 – Almost there!
